Service 02
Servers
From plated formal dinners to banquet-style seated receptions, our servers bring attentiveness, poise, and genuine hospitality to every table. They are trained to work within the service sequence your event requires.
Particularly well-suited for multi-course seated dinners, wedding receptions, and any setting where formal table service defines the guest experience.
What to expect
- Formal and informal table service styles
- Coordinated, synchronized multi-course service
- Attentive water, wine, and coffee service
- Professional guest interaction and discretion
- Full table reset and clearing as required
Suited for
Standard Attire
White button-down shirt, black slacks or skirt, black apron, black non-slip shoes. Formal black tie or custom attire available per event requirements.

Event Captains
An event captain is the operational center of your service team. They direct the floor staff, manage the service timeline, communicate with your event planner and venue, and handle any issues before they reach your guests.
For events with five or more service staff, a dedicated captain is strongly recommended. For smaller events, a captain may also serve in a dual role.
What to expect
- Pre-event walkthrough of venue and service plan
- Coordination with event planner, caterer, and venue staff
- Real-time management of service team throughout event
- Single point of contact for day-of hospitality decisions
- Post-event staff debrief and breakdown oversight
Suited for
Standard Attire
Formal black suit or blazer with coordinating attire. Captains are visually distinct from general service staff to facilitate easy guest and vendor identification.

Service 04
Food Runners
Food runners keep the rhythm of service moving — efficiently and quietly. They work between kitchen and dining areas to ensure each course arrives on time and to the correct guest, allowing servers to focus entirely on table-side service.
A strong runner team is often the difference between smooth, synchronized service and a kitchen bottleneck that delays the entire event timeline.
What to expect
- Accurate, efficient course delivery from kitchen to table
- Clear communication with kitchen and floor team
- Attention to guest seating charts and dietary flags
- Professional presentation and conduct at all times
- Support for passed hors d'oeuvres service as needed
Suited for
Standard Attire
Black shirt, black slacks, black non-slip shoes. Clean and professional. Coordinated to match server attire where applicable.
Service 05
Setup & Breakdown Crew
Ready Serve setup and breakdown crews handle the physical work of preparing and clearing an event space — so your planner, caterer, and venue team can focus on the details that require their expertise.
Often booked separately from service staff, setup and breakdown crews can also be added on to a full service team package for end-to-end event coverage.
What to expect
- Table and chair placement per your floor plan
- Linen setting, centrepiece placement, and place setting arrangement
- Bar and station setup as directed
- Full venue clear-down and furniture breakdown at close
- Trash removal and post-event cleaning support
Suited for
Standard Attire
Black or dark clothing, appropriate for physical work. Clean, presentable, and professional — setup crew may be visible to early-arriving guests.

Service 06
Hospitality Support Staff
Not every event role fits neatly into a single category. Ready Serve's hospitality support staff fill the gaps — guest registration, coat check, venue escort, gift table attendants, and general front-of-house support.
Support staff are a particularly valuable addition to large-scale events where guest flow, arrival experience, and ambient service quality need dedicated attention.
What to expect
- Guest registration and check-in assistance
- Coat check and personal item management
- Venue escort and directional assistance for guests
- Gift table and card box attendance
- Ambient floor presence and general guest assistance
Suited for
Standard Attire
Professional formal attire appropriate to the event. Coordinated with overall staff presentation upon booking confirmation.
Not Sure What You Need?
We'll help you build
the right team.
Every event is different. If you're unsure which roles you need — or how many of each — reach out and we'll talk through your event and recommend a staffing plan that fits your guest count, venue, and service style.
When reaching out, it helps to have:
- Event date and approximate start time
- Venue name or address
- Estimated guest count
- Type of event (wedding, corporate, private dinner, etc.)
- Service style needed (seated, passed, buffet, bar only)
- Any attire requirements or special instructions
Don't have all of this yet? That's fine — reach out with whatever you have and we'll work through the rest together.
